The signal to look for
A few missing appointments and a failed export are usually two separate problems. Both directions failing at the same time is different. It almost always means the connection between HappyDoc and your practice server has dropped, rather than anything wrong in the app.
So the first useful question isn't "which appointment is missing", it is "is anything moving in either direction?"
Step 1: Rule out the simple things
Check the date and the doctor filter. Switch to All Doctors and confirm the day.
Refresh the page. One try before going further.
Confirm it really is both directions. Try exporting a document you know worked before. If exports work and only appointments are missing, see Uploading Appointments From a File đ¤ instead.
Step 2: Check the practice server
Is the server on and on the network? The most common cause by a wide margin.
Has anything changed recently? A restart, a Windows update, a password change, new firewall rules, or a machine being replaced will all do it.
Restart the HappyDoc service on that server. If someone looks after your server they can do this. If not, tell us and we'll guide you.
Step 3: Send us one screenshot
On the practice server, open the HappyDoc connector.
Screenshot the whole window including the status area.
Reply to any email from us and attach it, and say roughly when things stopped.
Quick Tips
You can keep recording: A dropped connection stops appointments arriving and notes exporting, but not recording. Add the visit in HappyDoc and export once it's back. Note the time it stopped: The single most useful detail for us. One server, one connection: If you have more than one site, each has its own setup. |
Troubleshooting / FAQs
Q: Will the appointments I missed come through once it reconnects?
A: Tell us the dates and we'll pull the schedule across for you.
Q: Will my recordings be affected?
A: No. Recordings upload over the internet from the device, not through the practice server.
Q: Do I need my IT provider?
A: Only if nobody at the practice can get onto the server.
Q: This keeps happening.
A: Tell us, and say roughly how often. A connection that drops repeatedly is worth a proper look, not a fix each time.
