Build your own Custom SOAP

Updated over a week ago

HappySOAP is a great starting point but we know that you have a tried and true method and format that works for you! Use HappyDoc's Custom Document Builder to create your own template with your preferred normal values.

πŸ“ Drafting your Custom Document

  1. Navigate to the Document Types page: https://app.gohappydoc.com/document-types

  2. Click Create Custom to open the Document Builder

arrow pointing to "create custom" button

  3. From here, choose whether to start from the contents of HappySOAP or start from a blank slate. Starting from HappySOAP will populate the Custom Builder with the HappySOAP sections and fields while starting from a blank document gives you a blank slate.

  4. Drag and drop items from the list of Fields in the right panel into the desired position within the center panel.

Dragging to the "Add a Section" line will add a new section to your document.

Dragging to a spot within an expanded section will add a new field to this section.

  5. Change the field's title, normal value, or formatting if necessary.

  6. Remove a field by dragging and dropping it out of the center panel and into the right panel. OR by clicking the "X' on the field.

NOTE: In order to move a field to a new section, first drag and drop the field out of its current section. Then, drag and drop the field into its new section.

  7. When you're ready, Preview your new custom document then save it.

  8. Set your custom document to Active via the toggle next to the document name. An Active document is available for generation elsewhere in the product. Then, give it a go!

✐ Editing an Existing Custom Document

Note: Document edits auto-save. If you want to preserve the current state of your document, be sure to "Duplicate" your document and edit the copy.

  1. Navigate to Document Types, then use the options on the right side to edit, duplicate or delete your document type.
