Navigate to HappyDoc
Start by heading to app.gohappydoc.com and logging in with your credentials. Once you’re logged in, you’ll be taken directly to the Visits area.
Verify Your PIMS Connection
Click on Settings to open the general settings area. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page to see which patient management system you currently have set up. Make sure Shepherd is listed as your connected PIMS.
Configure Document Export Settings
Scroll back up to the top of the Settings page and navigate to the Document Settings area. From here, select the specific document you’d like to configure for export to Shepherd, for example, a SOAP document, and click on it. Once the document is selected, you’ll find the Export Settings in the upper right-hand side of the screen. Configure your preferred export options and click Save. You’ll see a confirmation that your export settings have been saved.
Navigate to Shepherd
Now head over to Shepherd and find the patient you’d like to export information to. You can search for the patient or navigate to their record directly — for example, a patient named “Spike.”
Open the Chrome Extension
While you’re in Shepherd, open the Chrome extension side panel by clicking the little dog head icon. This will open the HappyDoc extension alongside Shepherd, giving you access to the writeback features.
Approve and Sync
In the Chrome extension, search for the patient or navigate to the patient visit you’d like to push over to Shepherd. Once you have the document open, scroll to the bottom where you’ll find the Approve & Sync button. Click it and a pop-up will appear, in the dropdown, make sure to select Shepherd and then approve it to initiate the writeback to Shepherd.
Review the Writeback
After syncing, take a moment to review that all of the information pushed into Shepherd as expected. Check that vitals, clinical notes, and any other details look correct in the patient’s record.
